Nichole Rose + Russle
December 13th, 2008
I met up with Nichole and Russle in New York a few days ago. They are super cool couple. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE… times 1000000 Nichole’s hair – she’s incredible to take photos of – she has some experience behind the camera. Russle did a great job too – you can feel the intense love in their photographs. I went back to the Brooklyn Bridge for the shoot – I love the bridge so much – it’s incredible in so many ways.

A Celebration of Love
Editors’ Pick!

The underlying theme to our wedding was LOVE. As it should be. Simple, right?
My grandmother recently died, and being the awesome free spirit that she was, she loved the LOVE statue. We decided that it would be the one element that tied our wedding together. It was for her, and my mother… who had a wall decoration of the same in her first apartment. Which is now in my living room….
Our wedding was as causal and free spirited as my grandma, and that LOVE statue. I have always wanted a barn in my wedding – my father got remarried in one, and I always loved the idea. The Mason jars were a part of that look, and I decided that I wanted them to be candle holders. I scoured EBay until my eyes were red, trying to find blue-hued mason jars. We tied them in a burgundy ribbon to match the girls. All in all – I have 20. The drink stirrers are from foryourparty.com, who also made our napkins with the same graphic.

Livie & Margot
December 11th, 2008
I went into the city today – yes again – from Westchester ( where my parents live ) to see my old friend Mary. We met when I was a NANNY… back when I was 20 – 5 years ago in San Francisco. We bonded right away – due to loving 2 year olds and New York. I try to go into the city every time that I’m back in NY to see her – but I have not seen these amazing children in two years. No time ever passes with Mary – but the kids have grown. I am so proud of Livie – the 5 year old – she is super talented and plays the violin. She goes to a special musical elementary school. ( FYI…. 500 four year olds tried out for this school and Olivia was one of the 15 that made it… ) She takes after her mother. I love this family so much – they are amazing – I am so lucky to have them in my life.
